During the pandemic I dared to try being on the other side of the camera, the self-portrait as a way of self-discovery.
Today the self-portrait is often confused with the selfie, but they are very different. The selfie is an impulsive and ephemeral act of the moment, while the self-portrait takes time for composition and time to think about the light of the space in which the action will take place.
It is not easy to take a self-portrait in #quarantine. The places we have are tiny, we live with other people, and we don’t even have all the materials we would like. But on the other hand, it helps us to reinvent ourselves as image artists. In times like these, our creativity comes out, driven to generate new material.
We believe that as in every discipline that works with the other, everyone has to learn to work with oneself first.
